VLIR-UOS 2025 ICP Connect Scholarship for Master’s Programmes
Applications are now open for the VLIR-UOS ICP Connect Scholarship, a fully funded opportunity for students from 30 eligible countries in Africa, Asia, and Latin America to pursue Master’s degrees in Belgium. These accredited international study programmes are offered in English at Flemish universities and universities of applied sciences and arts.

Benefits of the VLIR-UOS ICP Connect Scholarship
The scholarship covers:
Full tuition fees
Travel expenses
Insurance
Living expenses (board and lodging)
Scholarship duration: 12/24/36 months (full duration of the study programme)
The scholarship does not offer partial funding or extensions beyond the official programme duration.
Eligibility Criteria
1. Nationality & Residency
Applicants must be citizens of one of the 30 eligible countries and must be residing in one of these countries at the time of application.
2. Age Requirements
For Bachelor’s & Initial Master’s Programmes: Under 35 years old (as of January 1 of the intake year).
For Advanced Master’s Programmes: Under 45 years old (as of January 1 of the intake year).
Bachelor’s applicants must be at least 19 years old by January 1 of the intake year.
3. Professional Background & Experience
Preference is given to candidates employed in:
Higher education institutions
Government agencies
Civil society organizations
Newly graduated candidates or private-sector employees without work experience may also apply if they provide strong motivation and a compelling profile.
4. Scholarship Applications
Applicants can only apply for ONE ICP Connect scholarship per year.
Cannot receive another scholarship or grant for the same programme or any other programme at the same time.
5. Previous Scholarship Restrictions
Applicants who have received a Belgian government scholarship before or have enrolled in a Belgian university before January 1 of the intake year are NOT eligible.

Motivation & Commitment
Candidates must show a strong motivation and clear professional goals.
They should demonstrate the potential to transfer knowledge/skills and contribute to sustainable development in their home countries.
Professional Experience & Impact Potential
Preference is given to those who can apply their knowledge and skills in their home country in areas like higher education, government, civil society, or private sector.
Gender Balance
The scholarship aims to maintain a balance between male and female scholars. Women are strongly encouraged to apply.
Regional Diversity
Scholarships are awarded to a broad selection of candidates from different eligible countries.
Leave No One Behind (LNOB)
Candidates from vulnerable groups will be prioritized if they meet the required qualifications.
Previous Scholarship Recipients
Preference will be given to applicants who have never received a scholarship to study in a higher-income country.
