University of Ottawa Entrance & Excellence Scholarships for African Students
The University of Ottawa is proud to introduce the Entrance & Excellence Scholarships, a four-year financial aid program designed to support African students pursuing undergraduate studies in Canada.
About the Scholarship
This initiative reduces tuition costs significantly for eligible students enrolling in Fall 2024 and beyond.
Excellence Scholarships: $17,500 – $25,000 per year
Entrance Scholarships: $12,000 – $20,000 per year

Scholarship Benefits
Students can receive a renewable four-year scholarship to ease tuition fees, with amounts varying by faculty:
Telfer School of Management
Excellence Scholarship: $80,000 over 4 years ($20,000 per year)
Entrance Scholarship: $40,000 over 4 years ($10,000 per year)
Faculty of Engineering
Excellence Scholarship: $100,000 over 4 years ($25,000 per year)
Entrance Scholarship: $60,000 over 4 years ($15,000 per year)
Faculty of Health Sciences
Excellence Scholarship: $70,000 over 4 years ($17,500 per year)
Entrance Scholarship: $40,000 over 4 years ($10,000 per year)
Faculty of Science
Excellence Scholarship: $70,000 over 4 years ($17,500 per year)
Entrance Scholarship: $40,000 over 4 years ($10,000 per year)
Faculty of Social Sciences
Excellence Scholarship: $70,000 over 4 years ($17,500 per year)
Entrance Scholarship: $40,000 over 4 years ($10,000 per year)
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
Be a citizen of an African country
Be newly admitted for Fall 2024 or later in an eligible English-language undergraduate program
Not be enrolled in the French immersion stream
Have a valid study permit by the start of classes
Be enrolled full-time
