British Council GREAT Scholarship

The University of Kent, in partnership with the British Council and the GREAT Britain Campaign, is offering 7 scholarships of £10,000 each to students from China, France, Kenya, Malaysia, Nigeria, Thailand, and Turkey. The scholarship is for students applying for one-year taught postgraduate courses at the university’s UK campuses. The award will be applied towards one year of tuition fees. The GREAT Scholarships 2025 programme aims to provide access to world-class UK higher education opportunities for postgraduate students worldwide.

Scholarship benefits

Eligibility criteria
To be eligible, applicants must:
– Be a resident and citizen of one of the eligible countries (China, France, Kenya, Malaysia, Nigeria, Thailand, or Turkey) and be classified as an overseas fee payer.
– Have received a conditional offer for a full-time 12-month postgraduate course at one of the University of Kent’s UK campuses and accepted it before the deadline of April 25, 2025.
– Be starting their course in September 2025.
– Have work experience or a demonstrated interest in their field of study.
– Be willing to engage in UK Higher Education by attending lectures, participating in extracurricular activities, and acting as an ambassador for UK education.
– Be willing to maintain engagement with the UK beyond their studies through personal and academic growth.
– Represent the GREAT brand by becoming an advocate for scholarships.
– Be willing to attend a networking event with other GREAT scholars to share experiences and insights about studying in the UK.

Exclusions
– The scholarship cannot be combined with any other scholarship.
– Applicants enrolled in distance learning programmes are not eligible.
– Applicants for two-year courses, including those with a Year in Industry, are not eligible.
– Applicants for PCert or PDip programmes are not eligible.
