NYU Stern Climate Economics Journalism Fellowship
About the Fellowship
The NYU Stern Climate Economics Journalism Fellowship is designed for journalists interested in covering the intersection of climate change and the economy.
It will provide participants with insights from globally recognized experts in climate economics and finance.
The next cohort will take place on September 18–19, 2025, at NYU Stern’s Greenwich Village campus, New York City.
Aim and Benefits
The fellowship covers all program costs, including meals.
Stipend for travel and accommodation:
$2,000 for fellows outside the New York Metro Area.
$1,000 for fellows within the New York Metro Area.
Payments may be subject to tax withholding depending on residency status.
Eligibility and Requirements
Open to all journalists (reporters, editors, freelancers) interested in climate-economy coverage.
While some aspects focus on U.S. policies and institutions, international journalists are encouraged to apply.
Selection is based on submitted application documents, including a letter of motivation.

Deadline: April 20, 2025.
Selected fellows will be notified by late May 2025.
