The MTN Science and Technology Scholarship (MTN STS) has been supporting 300-level students in Nigerian public tertiary institutions (Universities, Polytechnics, and Colleges of Education) since 2010. The scholarship provides ₦300,000 annually until graduation, provided the student maintains the required grade.
Eligibility Criteria:
1. Institution of Study:
Open to students in Nigerian public tertiary institutions (Universities, Polytechnics, and Colleges of Education).
2. Course of Study:
For MTN STS: Must be studying a Science & Technology-related course.
For MTN Scholarship for Blind Students (SBS): Open to 200 & 300-level blind students studying any course.
3. Academic Level:
MTN STS: Open to students moving into or already in their 300-level.
MTN SBS: Open to 200 & 300-level blind students (for Law students, only 300-level students can apply).
4. Minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA):
Public Universities & Colleges of Education: 3.0/4 or 3.5/5 (Second Class Upper Credit).
Public Polytechnics: 3.0 (Upper Credit) from OND and must have secured admission into HND.
Direct Entry Students: 3.0 (Upper Credit) from OND and must have secured admission into 300-level.
Blind Students: Minimum CGPA of 2.5 (Universities/Colleges of Education), 2.0 (Polytechnics).
Scholarship Benefits:
₦300,000 annually (previously ₦200,000).
Award continues until graduation if grade requirements are maintained.
