Indigenous Rural Nursing Scholarship
The Indigenous Rural Nursing Scholarship is designed to support undergraduate Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander students pursuing a Bachelor of Nursing who are undertaking their Professional Experience Placement (PEP) at an approved clinical education facility in a rural or remote setting.
This scholarship is made possible through a generous donation from St Theodore’s Anglican Church, Toorak Gardens.

Scholarship Benefits
The scholarship provides financial assistance, including:
– A contribution towards living expenses and travel costs
– A total award value of $2,000 annually, subject to fund availability
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must:
– Be of Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent
– Identify as and be accepted as an Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander
– Be enrolled or planning to enrol in a PEP topic in the second or third year of the Bachelor of Nursing at Flinders University
– Undertake the placement in a rural venue as defined by the Australian Statistical Geography Standard Remoteness Areas 2-5 (excluding Mount Barker)
– Complete their placement at a clinical education facility approved by the College of Nursing and Health Sciences
Selection Criteria
Scholarship recipients will be selected based on:
– Academic merit
– Commitment to working in a rural or remote area after graduation
A selection panel, including representatives from the College of Nursing and Health Sciences and the Office of Indigenous Strategy and Engagement, will review applications.
