Code for Africa (CfA) Fellowship Program 2025
Code for Africa (CfA), through its African Fact-Checking Alliance (AFCA), is offering a seven-month incubation program to media organizations and watchdog civil society organizations (CSOs) in Côte d’Ivoire and Senegal. The program aims to help these organizations establish or expand CheckDesks, which are dedicated fact-checking units that use IFCN-compliant techniques to counter misinformation and harmful content.

Eligibility Criteria
Organizations must:
– Not work for any paramilitary or security organization.
– Be based in Côte d’Ivoire or Senegal.
– Have an existing online presence, such as an actively maintained website or social media profiles, or commit to building a digital presence at the start of the program.
– Have internet access for participating journalists, trainees, and researchers.
– Be a member of the AFCA network. If not a member, applicants must fill out the AFCA membership form before applying.
– Have committed managerial and editorial staff who will participate in the program.
– Ensure timely and open communication from management and assigned team members.
– Ensure seconded trainees commit to weekly online training and task-based assignments.
– Commit to publishing fact-checking content regularly and engaging the public on a relevant platform.
– Have seconded trainees fluent in French, the language of instruction and mentorship.
