Australia Awards Scholarships 2025
The Australia Awards Scholarships are long-term scholarships administered by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT). These scholarships support individuals from developing countries, especially those in the Indo-Pacific region, to undertake full-time undergraduate or postgraduate study at participating Australian universities and Technical and Further Education (TAFE) institutions.

Benefits of the Australia Awards Scholarship
Successful applicants will receive:
Full Tuition Fees – Covers the cost of study at an Australian university or TAFE institution.
Return Air Travel – One economy class return ticket to and from Australia.
Establishment Allowance – A one-time payment for accommodation, textbooks, and study materials.
Contribution to Living Expenses (CLE) – Fortnightly stipend to cover basic living expenses.
Introductory Academic Program (IAP) – A compulsory program covering living and studying in Australia before academic studies begin.
Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) – Basic medical insurance for the duration of the scholarship.
Pre-Course English (PCE) Fees – English language training if deemed necessary.
Supplementary Academic Support – Additional support to help scholars succeed academically.
Fieldwork Allowance – Covers one return airfare for research students conducting compulsory fieldwork.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify, applicants must:
Be a citizen of an eligible country (mainly from the Indo-Pacific region).
Be at least 18 years old at the time of application.
Meet the eligibility criteria set by their home country and selected Australian institution.
Fulfill the admission requirements of the chosen university.
Meet the English language proficiency requirements.
Commit to returning to their home country for at least two years after completing their studies. Failure to do so will result in repaying the full cost of the scholarship.
Application Process & Requirements
Interview & Selection:
Selected applicants must sign a contract with the Commonwealth of Australia agreeing to comply with scholarship conditions.
Scholars must leave Australia for a minimum of two years after completing their studies. Failure to do so will result in a repayment obligation.
