Gilman-DAAD Germany Scholarships 2025
The Gilman-DAAD Germany Scholarship is a collaboration between the U.S. Department of State, the Institute of International Education (IIE), and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). It aims to provide up to 40 scholarships per year for U.S. undergraduate students to study or intern in Germany.
This scholarship is part of a larger transatlantic initiative to increase and diversify international student mobility between Germany and the U.S..

Eligibility Criteria
To qualify, applicants must:
Meet all eligibility requirements of the Gilman Scholarship Program (see here).
Be matriculated full-time in a degree program at a U.S. accredited college/university.
Remain enrolled at their home institution after completing the study/internship abroad program.
Have completed at least two years of study at the time of departure.
If studying at a community college, applicants must demonstrate plans to transfer into a four-year bachelor’s degree program after their international experience.
Choose a study/internship program in Germany that meets program eligibility requirements.
Not Eligible
Students who have previously received a Gilman Scholarship funded by the U.S. ECA.
Students who are currently receiving Gilman funding at the time of application.
