Overview
The Women at Microsoft Employee Resource Group, in collaboration with the Seattle Foundation, has established a scholarship program to support women (self-identifying) students who aspire to further their education in technology, engineering, math, or computer science. This initiative is designed to empower and encourage more women to pursue careers in STEM fields.

The scholarship is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s leading provider of scholarships and education support programs.

Scholarship Details
Application Deadline: March 13, 2025
Country to Study: United States
Study Level: Undergraduate
Sponsor: Microsoft
Target Gender: Women (self-identifying), including non-binary, gender-fluid, and transgender women
Number of Awards: Up to 26 recipients
Scholarship Amount: $5,000 per recipient
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following requirements:

Be a graduating high school senior.
Self-identify as a woman, non-binary, gender-fluid, or transgender woman.
Plan to enroll full-time in an undergraduate program related to technology, engineering, math, or computer science at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school in the United States.
Maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent).
International students are eligible if they are enrolling in a U.S. college or university.
Ineligibility:

Employees and children of Microsoft employees are not eligible to apply.
Selection Process
Scholarship recipients will be selected based on:

Academic performance and GPA
Leadership and participation in school and community activities
Work experience
Statement of educational and career goals
Personal or family circumstances
An online recommendation
Financial need will also be considered. Applicants must demonstrate financial need to be eligible for selection.

The selection process follows these steps:

Scholarship America reviews applications and shortlists finalists.
Microsoft selects the final scholarship recipients.
Not all applicants will be awarded, and all decisions are final.
Required Documents for Application
Applicants must upload the following documents:

Current, complete academic transcript (Grade reports are not accepted). The transcript must display:
Student’s full name
School name
Grades
Credit hours for each course and term
Upper secondary school diploma or certificate (International applicants only).
Results of standardized exams (International applicants only).
English translations for any non-English documents.

Eligible students can apply by completing the online application and submitting the required documents before the deadline: March 13, 2025.
