Good news for prospective students! McGill University is now offering a range of fully funded scholarships for international students. Whether you’re planning to enroll in an undergraduate, master’s, or Ph.D. program, McGill’s Scholarship Program is designed to support your academic journey.

Ph.D.
Study Destination: Canada (McGill University). Scholarship Coverage:

Undergraduates: Scholarships provide up to $8,500.
Master’s and Ph.D. Students: A modest amount in bursaries is available.
In addition to these awards, McGill University offers merit-based Entrance Scholarships and need-based Entrance Bursaries specifically for newly accepted, first-year, first-degree undergraduate students. For graduate students already enrolled at McGill, the Scholarships & Student Aid Office administers an In-Course Financial Aid Program offering loans and bursaries as supplemental support.

Who Can Apply?

To be eligible for the McGill University Scholarships, applicants should meet the following criteria:

Language Requirement: Proficiency in English.
Citizenship: Open to applicants from all countries.
Enrollment: Must be registered in a full-time degree program at McGill University.
Financial Need: Applicants must demonstrate financial need. This includes the intention to apply for additional support through government student aid or Indigenous Band Support Funding.
Additional Requirements:
Accept and apply for the maximum available government student aid for which they are eligible.
Maintain satisfactory academic standing.
The Entrance Bursary Program is specifically designed for:

Newly accepted, first-year, first-degree undergraduate students.
Newly accepted, first-year students entering professional programs in Medicine and Law from low to modest-income families.
How to Apply

Follow these steps to apply for the McGill University Scholarships:

Admission:
First, register in an undergraduate or master’s degree program at McGill University.
Additional Documentation for International Students:
International (non-US) applicants wishing to be considered for the Entrance Bursary Program must submit a CSS Profile along with the McGill Minerva aid application.
In-Course Financial Aid:
Graduate students in need of supplemental financial assistance can apply for In-Course Financial Aid at any point during the academic year (September to August). Applications become available each August for the upcoming academic year.
